Windy And Carl - We Will Always Be

Like the soundtrack to a particularly pleasant daydream, Windy And Carl manage to travel to the ends of imagination whilst at the same time going absolutely nowhere. Weaving a good dollop of soporific droney magic over the course of new album We Will Always Be, the duo cast an array of beautiful aural shadows with as little musical paint as possible, inviting the audience to ooze into the space created and drift off into blissful oblivion as the hour-long meditation unfolds.

Starting off with 'For Rosa' - something actually approaching a proper song - it isn't long before structures begin to dissolve into the ethereal states that see Windy And Carl at their best, culminating in the eighteen minute 'Fainting In The Presence Of God'. For those after the quick fixes that the digital age has ingrained in the general populous, We Will Always Be will be both a shock and superficially a bore as it cannot be distilled to a thirty second sound bite; but let the sparse waves wash over and the true soul of the music will slowly emerge.
