Mike Oldfield unveils special edition of Crises and Five Miles Out

In a year which celebrates the 40th Anniversary of his seminal album Tubular Bells, two of Mike Oldfield’s classic 80s albums, Crises and Five Miles Out, will be issued on various limited edition collectors’ formats on September 2nd through Mercury/Universal Music Catalogue.

These limited edition releases of Crises and Five Miles Out include coloured vinyl, remixes, live footage DVDs, unreleased demos, essays and including interview material with Oldfield himself, as well as an attractive 30th Anniversary collector’s box set and book for Crises (full details of all formats below) – all of which are more superb additions to Mike Oldfield’s critically-acclaimed catalogue reissue programme.

This 2013 edition of Crises contains a new remaster of this much-loved album, pressed on 180gm vinyl.

This exclusive 2013 edition of Crises contains a remaster of this much-loved album, pressed on 180gm transparent green vinyl in a limited edition of 500 numbered copies only available through mikeoldfieldofficial.com. The inner bag contains a new essay with an interview with Mike.

CRISES SINGLE CD
This 2013 edition of Crises contains a remaster of the album, alongside B-sides, rarities, and two newly prepared acoustic reworkings by Oldfield of ‘Moonlight Shadow’ and ‘Shadow On The Wall.’

CRISES DOUBLE CD DELUXE
The release of Crises spawned an extensive tour culminating with a concert at Wembley Arena in London on July 22nd. This 2-CD set of Crises contains a 2013 remaster of the album, alongside B-sides, rarities, and two newly prepared acoustic reworkings by Oldfield of ‘Moonlight Shadow’ and ‘Shadow On The Wall.’ The second disc contains highlights from the Wembley concert, featuring favourites such as ‘Family Man’.

CRISES BOXED SET EDITION
This anniversary boxed set of Crises includes two previously unreleased CDs of the entire Wembley concert, along with a DVD of the previously unreleased fifty-minute video film Crises at Wembley featuring full performances of ‘Crises’ and ‘Tubular Bells Part One’ and rare promotional videos. The set also includes a stunning new 5.1 Surround mix of the album by Oldfield himself. It comes packaged in an attractive box with a 32-page hard-backed book, with sleevenotes containing an interview with Oldfield.

The release of Five Miles Out spawned a hugely successful European tour which culminated in a performance at the Sporthalle, Cologne in December 1982. This deluxe edition of Five Miles Out contains a newly remastered 2013 version of the album, and also features a previously unreleased CD of highlights of this concert, along with a DVD featuring a stunning new 5.1 Surround mix of the album by Oldfield himself, a promotional video for the title track and two rare performances on the BBC TV programme Six Fifty Five Special from 1982. Complete with a 16-page booklet containing an interview, Five Miles Out is another superb addition to Mike Oldfield’s catalogue reissue programme.
