Pure Reason Revolution - Valour EP

With Pure Reason Revolution announcing their split and final tour, the band have seen fit to grace us with one last release in the form of this EP. Collecting together one brand new track and various other alternative mixes and edits, the Valour EP may not be all that tantalising on paper but it does present a nice little overview of the band.

The title track appears in a slightly different form than it did on the Hammer & Anvil album, slightly punchier and noisy, while the only exclusive track on the release entitled ‘Tempest’ mixes starry electronics with space-rock guitars. The edit of ‘Armistice’ is pretty unremarkable, but the Paul Northfield edit of the epic ‘The Bright Ambassadors Of Morning’ recalls the band's most proggy side. This EP may seem a little rushed to be put together, but it’s all for a good cause as the proceeds go to The Royal British Legion and War Child, and you can’t fault them for ending things on a charitable note such as that.
