Rachel Sermanni - Black Currents EP

As the latest addition to the Communion label family (spear-headed by Mumford and Son's Ben Lovett), Scottish born Rachel Sermanni is already making waves in the indie-folk commuity with her wizened vocals and evocative storytelling.

Sermanni's beautiful vocals float to the surface of these delightful songs like leaves drifting down a slow moving current. With hints of Laura Marling, as in opening track 'Breathe Easy', and Jesca Hoop, in the playful 'The Fog', Semanni's clever craft and evocative lyrics set her apart from the typical singer/songwriter crowd. Mercifully spared over-production, Black Currents lets Sermanni's voice shine through. Very lovely indeed.
