MALKA sticks it to Trump with her new single, Fell For You

MALKA has released her new video for her anti-Trump track, 'Fell For You'. The video was illustrated by John Riordan and animated by Paul Roper.

Not only is it a great track and great video, but it also works wonderfully as a response to the current political situation in America.

Scottish experimental alt-pop songstress MALKA has unveiled her new single ‘Fell For You’, due for release on March 17th through Tantrum Records. ‘Fell For You’ is the catchiest anti-trump song of the year, it’s the second single to be taken from MALKA’s forthcoming second album,

A triumphant worldly anthem, ‘Fell For You’ finds MALKA enlisting hypnotic beats and woozy samples to lead her tribe to question the current political climate. It’s a message that strongly resonates during these unsettled times.

Of the single MALKA reveals, "This song really wrote itself. I had a melody running through my head for a few weeks and when I finally sat down to write the lyrics I just kept feeling angry and frustrated - and so 'Fell for you' was born.”

The Fake News music video for ‘Fell For You’ was illustrated by John Riordan and animated by Paul Roper.

‘Fell For You’ and the upcoming new album follows the release of her acclaimed 2014 debut Marching To Another Beat. Since then she’s become a BBC 6Music favourite and has clocked up big support from Lauren Laverne, Nemone and Chris Hawkins at the station.

A powerful natural-born leader, and living mantra of goodwill, MALKA is pouring her musical energy into the ever-changing physical and mental landscape around us. As she approaches the release of her latest record, the Glasgow singer is striving for a better life and better dreams for everyone that meets its enchanting aural waves.

MALKA first made waves on the music scene as Tamara Schlesinger, the frontwoman of acclaimed alt-folk collective 6 Day Riot and also as a prolific songwriter. Her past work has been included in a host of high-profile syncs for TV series and Hollywood blockbusters – most notably Skins, Scream 4 and 127 Hours. Her voice can also be heard in Lock, Stock & Two Smoking Barrels.
